Congratulations Professor Douglas Diamond on being awarded the 2022 Nobel Prize in Economic Science.
Professor Diamond is a professor of finance at the University of Chicago. He is also an independent board member for Dimensional Fund Advisors (DFA). Professor Diamond is the fifth academic professor with deep ties to Dimensional Fund Advisors to be awarded a Nobel Prize in Economics.
The three founding board members of DFA, Eugene Fama, Merton Miller, and Myron Scholes all received Nobel Prizes in Economic Sciences. Robert Merton, DFA’s resident economic scientist, has also received a Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences. Professor Diamond becomes the fifth.
